Check out these great vehicles under $10k!

Another great review from one of our loyal customers!

I have been to a lot of dealerships to purchase automobiles in my lifetime, and none of them have ever come close to the satisfaction and pleasure I enjoyed in the purchase of this 08 Hummer. The professionalism and courtesy demonstrated by "ALL" of the employees was outstanding. After my conversations with Tony Reynolds and Victor Ferguson I understood that these qualities started with management. Jeff Zafar is the most knowledgeable and polite salesman I have had the pleasure of dealing with. Blake Durham in finance is "TOP NOTCH" when it came to my financing, I am amazed by his dedication to customers in giving us the best financial support a dealership can offer. The APR he worked to get me was a lot lower than expected. The trade in value of my Saturn Sky blew me away. I am so pleased with this dealership that I took my son, and he purchased an 08 Dodge Ram truck.

My advice to anyone interested in purchasing a top quality used vehicle?

"Come to Automax Hyundai of Norman for the automobile buying experience of a lifetime"

Kim, thank you for your positive feedback!

I have never had any car salesman work so hard to get me into a car that fit my budget. I was upside down in a car loan and Daniel worked his tail off to get me the best price on my trade-in. I had been to several other dealerships and none of them wanted to work with me on my trade. Automax went above and beyond! Daniel France was genuinely concerned in getting me what I wanted. Thank you for making my car buying experience as painless as possible.

2013 Santa Fe unwrapped before New York debut

2013-hyundai-santa-fe-rear
2013-hyundai-santa-fe-front

The first images of the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe have officially leaked out, thanks to the fan boys over at Hyundai Blog. First spotted wrapped in camouflage in October, these shots are the first unwrapped images we’ve seen of the 2013 Santa Fe as Hyundai readies it for its debut at April’s New York International Auto Show.

Back in October we brought you these exclusive spy shots of a camouflaged 2013 Santa Fe rolling around the streets of New York. From what we could tell, the new Santa Fe would be bigger than the outgoing model, and wears Hyundai’s trademark fluidic design language. The camouflaged mule also gave us a slight glimpse of the 2013 Santa Fe’s new grille which looks to be very similar to Ford’s old tri-bar grille.

These spy shots from the Hyundai Blog clearly show what that Santa Fe we spotted in New York was hiding under all that camo. Up front, the 2013 Santa Fe gets a chrome three-bar grille in a trapezoidal opening reminiscent of the Veloster’s. The new Santa Fe also gets new headlights that follow the same design language of the recently-debuted 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Around back, the 2013 Santa Fe gets a rear that at first glance looks like it could belong on the Audi Q7.

The 2013 Santa Fe’s power plants aren’t currently known, and details likely won’t leak out until the official debut in New York. We’re expecting the next-gen Santa Fe to make full use of Hyundai’s gasoline-direct injection four-bangers, and possibly the 293-hp 3.3-liter GDI V-6 from the recently-introduced Azera.  Rumors are also floating around that the 2013 Santa Fe may get a version of the 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 that’s currently found in the Veloster Turbo and Sonata to help it go head-to-head with the EcoBoost-equipped Ford Explorer.

Thanks for the great review, Michal!

"I live in OKC but always get my service done at AutoMax Hyundai Norman. I had the oil changed in my Expedition in preparation for driving to Florida for Christmas. Dave McCune provided his usual prompt, courteous service at a great price. It turns out that I needed to have the engine air filter replaced and they did not have the part. Technician Adam Gray told me where I could get the part and showed me how to install it myself. I was able to take care of that on my way home. Thanks Dave and Adam!" - Michal

We sincerely appreciate our customers' feedback!

"This place was a no hassle no haggle dealership and their customer service was FANTASTIC! I told them exactly what I wanted, what I had for trade, and what I could pay and told him if they can't do it then don't waste my time, and they sure as heck didn't. I got exactly what I wanted and the price I needed in about 15 minutes. Of course it was late so I had to come back the next day and finish all the paperwork that didn't take but another 30 minutes. I will definitely consider a future purchase from there and have already recommended to several family members to buy their next vehicle there. This sounds cheesy, but the deals really "are automatic at automax." -anv727

Hyundai Elantra named 2012 North American car of the year!

Award caps record year for Hyundai Motor America and Elantra

  • Bold Fluidic Sculpture design
  • Best-in-class standard fuel economy on all models
  • Highest owner satisfaction with real world fuel economy of all compact cars
  • Mid-size interior room in a compact class footprint
  • Elantra is built at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama

DETROIT, Jan. 9, 2012 – The 2012 Hyundai Elantra took top honors in the most exclusive award in North America when it was named 2012 North American Car of the Year today.

A jury of 50 independent North American automotive journalists evaluated each of the new cars introduced last year and chose the 2012 Hyundai Elantra as the winner. The award was announced at a news conference at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, which marks Hyundai’s second win. The Hyundai Genesis was named North American Car of the Year in 2009.

“Elantra speaks to the success of our recipe of bold design and great fuel economy,” said John Krafcik, president and chief executive officer, Hyundai Motor America. “In a year with some truly breakthrough competitors, we are honored that the jury recognizes Elantra’s far-reaching impact on the industry.”

The jurors considered more than 50 new vehicles, before selecting the top three cars and top three trucks. The Volkswagen Passat and Ford Focus were the other car finalists.

This is the 19th year of the awards, which were inspired by the prestigious European “Car of the Year.” The jury is administered by an organizing committee and funded exclusively with dues paid by the jurors. Jurors judge the cars on a number of factors including innovation, impact on the industry, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction and value for the dollar.

HYUNDAI “FLUIDIC SCULPTURE” DESIGN

Hyundai_elantra

Elantra exemplifies Hyundai’s emotional “Fluidic Sculpture” design principles. “Fluidic Sculpture” considers the interplay of wind with rigid surfaces to create the illusion of constant motion. Elantra is an evolution of the design qualities found in Sonata.

Along Elantra’s sides are Sonata’s flowing lines, with the addition of a strong undercut feature line starting at the front door. These lines, along with muscular wheel arches and a sleek roofline, create a memorable and spacious package. Flowing lines also lead to an aerodynamic body. The drag coefficient for the Elantra is an exceptionally low 0.28 that compares favorably to the Chevrolet Volt (0.29).

Hyundai’s signature hexagonal front grille and detailed swept-back headlights give Elantra a compact athletic face. The assertive stance is complimented by 15-, 16- or 17-inch alloy wheels and athletic proportions. Available fog lights and side repeater mirrors complete the distinct design. Elantra was designed at Hyundai's North American Design Center in Irvine, Calif.

40 MPG POWERTRAIN
Elantra’s standard fuel economy is EPA-rated at 29 mpg city and 40 mpg highway, amd 33 mpg combined, with the six-speed automatic transmission or manual transmission. These figures give Elantra a highway-only driving range of up to 500 miles. Elantra’s strong EPA ratings are backed up by the highest owner satisfaction with real-world fuel economy in the compact class, according to data from J.D. Power and Associates.

Under the hood, the Elantra is powered by an all-new 1.8-liter Nu four-cylinder engine with 148 horsepower and 131 lb-ft of torque (145 horsepower and 130 lb-ft of torque for Elantra PZEV). Thanks to advanced clean engine technology, most Elantras sold in California, Oregon and several Northeast states are certified as Partial Zero Emission Vehicles (PZEV) by the EPA. The PZEV Elantra is as clean as many hybrid electric vehicles. The PZEV Elantra helps Hyundai meet its environmental commitments. Outside of these “green” states, the Elantra is available as an Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV).

Mark on the Market

Most importantly, Elantra is driving traffic to Hyundai showrooms. Elantra’s record 186,361 sales helped Hyundai achieve its record sales of 645,691 units in the U.S. in 2011. Hyundai Motor America posted a 20 percent increase over 2011 total sales.

We would like to thank Douglas for his excellent customer service skills!

"Douglas made my purchase enjoyable instead of stress full. I never felt pressured to purchase anything I did not want and really felt like Douglas was focused on meeting my request. He was very genuine and sincere. Something that unfortunately is not true for all salesmen. I actually walked away from a salesman at another dealership as he was too pushy and phony. With Douglas as well as the rest of the staff I interacted with, I never felt like I was just a number. Instead I felt comfortable and confident that they were going to meet my needs, and they did! I really felt comfortable there and can honestly say they are a great bunch of people. I used to be a Toyota person, but after the reviews I thought I would check Hyundai out and I am glad I did. Not only do I have a great car, but they have my business because of the way they treated me.

Thank you for your exceptional service
Sincerely
Cynthia De La Rosa"

COSTA MESA, Calif., Jan. 10, 2012The International Car of the Year Awards (ICOTY) announced the all-new Hyundai Veloster as the 2012 International Sporty Coupe of the Year – Most Personality. Selected by the ICOTY jury, a group of nationally-renowned automotive journalists, the 2012 Hyundai Veloster was deemed the most emotionally compelling new sporty coupe for the year.

“The Veloster is one of the most exciting and fun vehicles we’ve seen pass through the sporty coupe category in a long time,” said Courtney Caldwell, ICOTY founder and executive producer. “The ICOTY jury agreed that the new Veloster had the most personality and will bond effortlessly with consumer lifestyles in both mind and spirit.”

The 16th annual ICOTY presenters included Courtney Caldwell, editor-in-chief, Road & Travel Magazine; Denise McCluggage, famed auto journalist and author; and Ken Gross, auto writer for Playboy and Hemisphere’s magazine.

“Conceived to attract new, youthful drivers to the Hyundai brand, Veloster stands out from the crowd with a stylish yet functional design that combines the best characteristics of both a coupe and hatchback,” said Scott Margason, director, Product Planning, Hyundai Motor America. “The unique personality of the car is attracting many different types of shoppers and we’re honored that the ICOTY jury agrees.”

Great job, Paulette!

"Paulette Hand was refreshing in the way she dealt with us. She was very personable and not pushy at all. She was receptive to my input and did not intimidate us. Paulette's demeanor was friendly, not flashy. The gentlemen selling cars with her could take a lesson from her, while she was dressed nice and looked good, she wasn't over-dressed, wasn't starched, in a suit and tie, and looked very relaxed. Paulette is someone that any woman would feel comfortable dealing with. She knew her stuff and was enjoyable to talk to. I know that selling cars is a cut-throat business, but Paulette didn't make us feel like we absolutely HAD to buy from her. If asked for a referral from a friend, Paulette will be my first recommendation!!!" - tmclerran

Hyundai Debuts Hexa Space Concept with Puzzle-like Seats

2012-hyundai-hexa-space-concept-interior-623x389

Hyundai is looking to expand the notion of family mobility with its Hexa Space Concept, which it just revealed at the Auto Expo in New Delhi, India. The new concept has room for eight, fold-flat seats for camping, despite the fact it isn’t much bigger than a small hatchback.

Though only a concept, Hyundai is hoping to appeal to urban-dwellers in their 30s and 40s with young families in the world’s emerging economies. It’s also designed to provide a flexible interior space. The concept van is outfitted with eight hexagonal-shaped seats (hence the name) in three rows. The first two rows each have three seats, with the center seat placed aft from the outboard positions, maximizing shoulder room for three-abreast seating. The seats can be reconfigured in numerous ways, including having second-row seats recline, the middle seats folded for more space, or folding any of the seats flat into the floor for load space.

The automaker chose the hexagon because it is the best possible shape for packaging, as shown in nature with the honeycomb. Despite the large passenger load, the Hexa Space is quite small: it shares its platform with the Hyundai ix20 and Kia Soul, meaning it sits on a 108.3-inch wheelbase and is only 169.3 inches long overall. At 71.7 inches wide, it inhabits roughly the same footprint as a compact hatchback. Powering the concept is Hyundai’s Kappa 1.2-liter turbocharged I-4, which is bolted to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Other innovative features of the Hexa Space include rear doors that lift out and then slide back, out of the way, a touch-screen center stack with push-button transmission, and a cluster ionizer air purifier.

We sincerely appreciate our customers' feedback!

"I will never go anywhere else to buy a car than Automax. Victor Ferguson and Steve Griffith were the greatest. I went to several car lots about a month ago and no other salespeople would listen to my situation. I needed a good reliable car but I didn"t have any way to make payments. So I explained that I was trying to get money to pay cash. Iexplained that I believed God was going to help me as He always did. Then it happened. My son and I went back to Automax and was greeted by Paulette but was greeted by Steve to help. Then as we were in the car to go, Victor came to the car and asked how much I could spend. He knew that I had worked hard to raise enough to buy something. He said he was going to help me find one good car. My son and I went to eat and when we got back, They had my car ready. But they went beyond this with a full tank of gasoline and two free oil changes and this was the most cheerful and thankful timefor me. I am so thankful for my Sonata. I prayed all the way home for my car and for the salesmen that took time to listen and did not give up on me. Thank you Victor and Steve. I will tell others about you." -Catherine
